Dua Iftitah — TheShia

1

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَفْتَتِحُ ٱلثَّنَاءَ بِحَمْدِكَ

O Allah, I begin the glorification of You with praising You

2

وَأَنْتَ مُسَدِّدٌ لِلصَّوَابِ بِمَنِّكَ

and You always guide us to the right out of Your favors upon us.

3

وَأَيْقَنْتُ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

I am certain that You are the most Merciful of all those who show mercy

4

فِي مَوْضِعِ ٱلْعَفْوِ وَٱلرَّحْمَةِ

in situations of pardon and mercy,

5

وَأَشَدُّ ٱلْمُعَاقِبِينَ

the harshest in punishments

6

فِي مَوْضِعِ ٱلنَّكَالِ وَٱلنَّقِمَةِ

in situations of giving exemplary punishment and chastisement (to the wrongdoers),

7

وَأَعْظَمُ ٱلْمُتَجَبِّرِينَ

and the greatest Omnipotent

8

فِي مَوْضِعِ ٱلْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَٱلْعَظَمَةِ

in the domain of absolute power and might.

9

اَللَّهُمَّ أَذِنْتَ لِي فِي دُعَائِكَ وَمَسْأَلَتِكَ

O Allah, You have permitted me to pray and beseech You.

10

فَٱسْمَعْ يَا سَمِيعُ مِدْحَتِي

So, listen, O All-hearer, to my words of praise,

11

وَأَجِبْ يَا رَحِيمُ دَعْوَتِي

reply my prayer, O All-merciful,

12

وَأَقِلْ يَا غَفُورُ عَثْرَتِي

and overlook my slips, O Oft-Forgiving.

13

فَكَمْ يَا إِلٰهِي مِنْ كُرْبَةٍ قَدْ فَرَّجْتَهَا

You, O my God, have relieved so many of my grievances,

14

وَهُمُومٍ قَدْ كَشَفْتَهَا

dispelled so many of my sorrows,

15

وَعَثْرَةٍ قَدْ أَقَلْتَهَا

overlooked so many of my slips,

16

وَرَحْمَةٍ قَدْ نَشَرْتَهَا

spread over me many of Your mercies,

17

وَحَلْقَةِ بَلاءٍ قَدْ فَكَكْتَهَا

and unlocked so many rings of misfortunes (in which I was detained).

18

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صَاحِبَةً وَلاَ وَلَداً

All praise be to Allah Who has not betaken wife or son,

19

وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي ٱلْمُلْكِ

Who has no partner in the sovereignty

20

وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلِيٌّ مِنَ ٱلذُّلِّ

nor does He have any protecting friend through dependence.

21

وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيراً

And Magnify Him with all magnificence.

22

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بِجَمِيعِ مَحَامِدِهِ كُلِّهَا

All praise be to Allah with full gratitude

23

عَلَىٰ جَمِيعِ نِعَمِهِ كُلِّهَا

for all His bounties.

24

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لاَ مُضَادَّ لَهُ فِي مُلْكِهِ

All praise be to Allah Who has no opposition in His rule

25

وَلاَ مُنَازِعَ لَهُ فِي أَمْرِهِ

nor there is any challenge to His commands.

26

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ فِي خَلْقِهِ

All praise be to Allah Who has no counsel to meddle with His operation of creation

27

وَلاَ شَبِيهَ لَهُ فِي عَظَمَتِهِ

nor there is anything similar to Him in His greatness.

28

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلْفَاشِي فِي ٱلْخَلْقِ أَمْرُهُ وَحَمْدُهُ

All praise be to Allah Whose commandments and praise are active in the creation,

29

ٱلظَّاهِرِ بِٱلْكَرَمِ مَجْدُهُ

His glory is evident through His kindness,

30

ٱلْبَاسِطِ بِٱلْجُودِ يَدَهُ

His distinct overflowing generosity is freely available,

31

ٱلَّذِي لاَ تَنْقُصُ خَزَائِنُهُ

His unlimited bestowals do not exhaust,

32

وَلاَ تَزِيدُهُ كَثْرَةُ ٱلْعَطَاءِ إِلاَّ جُوداً وَكَرَماً

and Whose opulent bestowals increase Him nothing but magnanimity and generosity.

33

إِنَّهُ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْوَهَّابُ

Verily He is Mighty, Abundantly Giver.

34

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ قَلِيلاً مِنْ كَثِيرٍ

O Allah, I beseech You for little from the much,

35

مَعَ حَاجَةٍ بِي إِلَيْهِ عَظِيمَةٍ

along with my great need for it

36

وَغِنَاكَ عَنْهُ قَدِيمٌ

and Your needlessness for it is since eternity.

37

وَهُوَ عِنْدِي كَثِيرٌ

For me, it is so big

38

وَهُوَ عَلَيْكَ سَهْلٌ يَسِيرٌ

but for You, it is effortless and easy.

39

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ عَفْوَكَ عَنْ ذَنْبِي

O Allah, as You pardon my sins,

40

وَتَجَاوُزَكَ عَنْ خَطِيئَتِي

overlook my mistakes,

41

وَصَفْحَكَ عَنْ ظُلْمِي

take a lenient view of my disorderly conduct,

42

وَسِتْرَكَ عَلَىٰ قَبِيحِ عَمَلِي

cover up my hideous actions,

43

وَحِلْمَكَ عَنْ كَثِيرِ جُرْمِي

and treat my numerous offenses with forbearance,

44

عِنْدَ مَا كَانَ مِنْ خَطَإِي وَعَمْدِي

which I have committed mistakenly and willfully—

45

أَطْمَعَنِي فِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَكَ مَا لاَ أَسْتَوْجِبُهُ مِنْكَ

all that tempted me to ask for that which I do not deserve from You,

46

ٱلَّذِي رَزَقْتَنِي مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ

that is You may grant me part of Your mercy,

47

وَأَرَيْتَنِي مِنْ قُدْرَتِكَ

show me part of Your all-powerfulness,

48

وَعَرَّفْتَنِي مِنْ إِجَابَتِكَ

and show me signals of Your response to me.

49

فَصِرْتُ أَدْعُوكَ آمِناً

So, I am now supplicating You with security

50

وَأَسْأَلُكَ مُسْتَأْنِساً

and beseeching You with entertainment

51

لاَ خَائِفاً وَلاَ وَجِلاً

neither afraid nor fearful,

52

مُدِلاًّ عَلَيْكَ فِيمَا قَصَدْتُ فِيهِ إِلَيْكَ

insisting on You in that which I face to You.

53

فَإِنْ أَبْطَأَ عَنِّي عَتَبْتُ بِجَهْلِي عَلَيْكَ

But when Your response delayed, I, out of my ignorance, would blame You

54

وَلَعَلَّ ٱلَّذِي أَبْطَأَ عَنِّي هُوَ خَيْرٌ لِي

although perhaps slowing down may be a blessing in disguise,

55

لِعِلْمِكَ بِعَاقِبَةِ ٱلأُمُورِ

because You alone know the consequences of all matters.

56

فَلَمْ أَرَ مَوْلَىً كَرِيماً

So, I have never seen such a noble Master

57

أَصْبَرَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدٍ لَئِيمٍ مِنْكَ عَلَيَّ

more accommodating to such a dissatisfied servant than You are to me.

58

يَا رَبِّ إِنَّكَ تَدْعُونِي فَأُوَلِّي عَنْكَ

O Lord! You give an invitation but I turn down,

59

وَتَتَحَبَّبُ إِلَيَّ فَأَتَبَغَّضُ إِلَيْكَ

You become familiar with me but I do not care for You,

60

وَتَتَوَدَّدُ إِلَيَّ فَلاَ أَقْبَلُ مِنْكَ

and You show affection to me but I do not correspond to You,

61

كَأَنَّ لِيَ ٱلتَّطَوُّلَ عَلَيْكَ

as if You are overreaching me!

62

فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْكَ ذٰلِكَ مِنَ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ لِي

Yet, all that have not stopped You from having mercy upon me,

63

وَٱلإِحْسَانِ إِلَيَّ

doing favors to me,

64

وَٱلتَّفَضُّلِ عَلَيَّ بِجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ

and blessing me out of Your magnanimity and generosity.

65

فَٱرْحَمْ عَبْدَكَ ٱلْجَاهِلَ

So, (please) have mercy on Your ignorant servant

66

وَجُدْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَضْلِ إِحْسَانِكَ

and bestow upon him with the favors of Your beneficence.

67

إِنَّكَ جَوَادٌ كَرِيمٌ

Verily, You are All-magnanimous and All-generous.

68

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ مَالِكِ ٱلْمُلْكِ

All praise be to Allah: the Lord of the sovereignty,

69

مُجْرِي ٱلْفُلْكِ

Who allows arks to flow [on seas],

70

مُسَخِّرِ ٱلرِّيَاحِ

Who controls the winds,

71

فَالِقِ ٱلإِصْبَاحِ

Who causes the day to break,

72

دَيَّانِ ٱلدِّينِ

Who administers the authority,

73

رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

and Who is the Lord of the worlds.

74

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَىٰ حِلْمِهِ بَعْدَ عِلْمِهِ

All praise be to Allah for His indulgence although He has full acquaintance with all things.

75

وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَىٰ عَفْوِهِ بَعْدَ قُدْرَتِهِ

All praise be to Allah for His amnesty although He has full power over all things.

76

وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَىٰ طُولِ أَنَاتِهِ فِي غَضَبِهِ

All praise be to Allah for the respite that He allows in spite of provocation.

77

وَهُوَ قَادِرٌ عَلَىٰ مَا يُرِيدُ

He is able to do whatever He wills.

78

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ خَالِقِ ٱلْخَلْقِ

All praise be to Allah, the Creator of all created beings,

79

بَاسِطِ ٱلرِّزْقِ

Who makes sustenance freely available,

80

فَالِقِ ٱلإِصْبَاحِ

Who starts the day,

81

ذِي ٱلْجَلالِ وَٱلإِكْرَامِ

Who is the Owner of glory, might,

82

وَٱلْفَضْلِ وَٱلإِنْعَامِ

favors and bounties;

83

ٱلَّذِي بَعُدَ فَلاَ يُرَىٰ

and Who is so far away that none can ever see Him

84

وَقَرُبَ فَشَهِدَ النَّجْوَىٰ

and, in the same time, He is so nigh that He is fully aware of even the whispering secrets.

85

تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَىٰ

Blessed and Exalted be He.

86

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَيْسَ لَهُ مُنَازِعٌ يُعَادِلُهُ

All praise be to Allah Who has no equal to challenge Him,

87

وَلاَ شَبِيهٌ يُشَاكِلُهُ

nor is there an image comparable to Him,

88

وَلاَ ظَهِيرٌ يُعَاضِدُهُ

nor is there a helper to assist Him.

89

قَهَرَ بِعِزَّتِهِ ٱلأَعِزَّاءَ

He tames the powerful by His force,

90

وَتَوَاضَعَ لِعَظَمَتِهِ ٱلْعُظَمَاءُ

and disgraced are the great ones before His Greatness.

91

فَبَلَغَ بِقُدْرَتِهِ مَا يَشَاءُ

So, He, through His power, fulfills that which He wills.

92

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي يُجِيبُنِي حِينَ أُنَادِيهِ

All praise be to Allah Who gives answer to me whenever I call Him,

93

وَيَسْتُرُ عَلَيَّ كُلَّ عَوْرَةٍ وَأَنَا أَعْصِيهِ

covers up my shortcomings, yet I disobey Him,

94

وَيُعَظِّمُ ٱلنِّعْمَةَ عَلَيَّ فَلاَ أُجَازِيهِ

and gives me the largest part of bounties, yet I do not show him gratitude.

95

فَكَمْ مِنْ مَوْهِبَةٍ هَنِيئَةٍ قَدْ أَعْطَانِي

Many an auspicious favor had He given me,

96

وَعَظِيمَةٍ مَخُوفَةٍ قَدْ كَفَانِي

many a terrible danger had He turned off,

97

وَبَهْجَةٍ مُونِقَةٍ قَدْ أَرَانِي

and many a blossoming joy had He made available for me.

98

فَأُثْنِي عَلَيْهِ حَامِداً

Therefore, I praise Him with thankfulness

99

وَأَذْكُرُهُ مُسَبِّحاً

and mention Him with exaltation.

100

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لاَ يُهْتَكُ حِجَابُهُ

All praise be to Allah Whose screen cannot be penetrated,

101

وَلاَ يُغْلَقُ بَابُهُ

Whose door is not blocked,

102

وَلاَ يُرَدُّ سَائِلُهُ

Whose beseecher is not rejected,

103

وَلاَ يُخَيَّبُ آمِلُهُ

and one who hopes Him is not disappointed.

104

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي يُؤْمِنُ ٱلْخَائِفِينَ

All praise be to Allah Who secures the frightened ones,

105

وَيُنَجِّي ٱلصَّالِحِينَ

comes to the help of the upright ones,

106

وَيَرْفَعُ ٱلْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ

promotes the cause of the weak ones,

107

وَيَضَعُ ٱلْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ

annihilates the autocrats,

108

وَيُهْلِكُ مُلُوكاً وَيَسْتَخْلِفُ آخَرِينَ

destroys rulers, and appoints others instead.

109

وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ قَاصِمِ ٱلْجَبَّارِينَ

All praise be to Allah; the Eradicator of the tyrants,

110

مُبِيرِ ٱلظَّالِمِينَ

the Terminator of the unjust ones,

111

مُدْرِكِ ٱلْهَارِبِينَ

the Catcher of the fugitives,

112

نَكَالِ ٱلظَّالِمِينَ

the Punisher of the unjust ones,

113

صَرِيخِ ٱلْمُسْتَصْرِخِينَ

the Aide of the aid-seekers,

114

مَوْضِعِ حَاجَاتِ ٱلطَّالِبِينَ

the Settler of the needs of the beseechers,

115

مُعْتَمَدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

and the support of the faithful believers.

116

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي مِنْ خَشْيَتِهِ تَرْعُدُ ٱلسَّمَاءُ وَسُكَّانُهَا

All praise be to Allah! In His awe-inspiring fear the heavens and its dwellers tremble and shiver,

117

وَتَرْجُفُ ٱلأَرْضُ وَعُمَّارُهَا

the earth and its inhabitants shake and quiver,

118

وَتَمُوجُ ٱلْبِحَارُ وَمَنْ يَسْبَحُ فِي غَمَرَاتِهَا

and the oceans and all that which float and swim in their waters flow together in excitement and tumult.

119

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهٰذَا

All praise be to Allah Who has guided us to this.

120

وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلاَ أَنْ هَدَانَا ٱللَّهُ

We could not truly have been led aright if Allah had not guided us.

121

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي يَخْلُقُ وَلَمْ يُخْلَقْ

All praise be to Allah Who creates but He is not created,

122

وَيَرْزُقُ وَلاَ يُرْزَقُ

gives subsistence but He needs no provisions,

123

وَيُطْعِمُ وَلاَ يُطْعَمُ

feeds but He takes no nourishment,

124

وَيُمِيتُ ٱلأَحْيَاءَ

causes the living to die,

125

وَيُحْيِي ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ

and brings the dead to life,

126

وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لاَ يَمُوتُ

but He is the Ever-living Who never dies.

127

بِيَدِهِ ٱلْخَيْرُ

In His hands is all the good

128

وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

and He is able to do all things.

129

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Muhammad; Your servant, Messenger,

130

وَأَمِينِكَ وَصَفِيِّكَ وَحَبِيبِكَ

confidant, friend, beloved intimate,

131

وَخِيَرَتِكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

the choicest of Your created beings,

132

وَحَافِظِ سِرِّكَ

the bearer of Your sacraments,

133

وَمُبَلِّغِ رِسَالاَتِكَ

and the conveyor of Your messages,

134

أَفْضَلَ وَأَحْسَنَ وَأَجْمَلَ

with the most superior, the most exquisite, the most handsomer,

135

وَأَكْمَلَ وَأَزْكَىٰ وَأَنْمَىٰ

the most perfect, the most upright, the most prospering,

136

وَأَطْيَبَ وَأَطْهَرَ وَأَسْنَىٰ

the most pleasant, the most thoroughly purified, the most sublime,

137

وَأَكْثَرَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ وَبَارَكْتَ

the most and the best blessings, advantages,

138

وَتَرَحَّمْتَ وَتَحَنَّنْتَ

mercies, affections,

139

وَسَلَّمْتَ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ وَأَنْبِيَائِكَ

and salutations that You have ever bestowed upon anyone of Your servants, Prophets,

140

وَرُسُلِكَ وَصِفْوَتِكَ

Messengers, choicest people,

141

وَأَهْلِ ٱلْكَرَامَةِ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

and those honored by You from among Your created beings.

142

اَللَّهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ عَلِيٍّ أَمِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to `Ali; the Commander of the Believers,

143

وَوَصِيِّ رَسُولِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

the successor of the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds,

144

عَبْدِكَ وَوَلِيِّكَ وَأَخِي رَسُولِكَ

Your servant, Your beloved representative, the brother of Your Messenger,

145

وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلَىٰ خَلْقِكَ

Your decisive argument over the mankind,

146

وَآيَتِكَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ

Your most important sign,

147

وَٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

and the great news (from You).

148

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ ٱلصِّدِّيقَةِ ٱلطَّاهِرَةِ

(Please do) send blessings to the truthful and pure Lady,

149

فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

Fatimah; the Doyenne of the women of the world.

150

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ سِبْطَيِ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ

(Please do) send blessings to the sons of ‘the mercy to the worlds’

151

وَإِمَامَيِ ٱلْهُدَىٰ

and the two leaders of true guidance;

152

ٱلْحَسَنِ وَٱلْحُسَيْنِ

al-Hasan and al-Husayn,

153

سَيِّدَيْ شَبَابِ أَهْلِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ

the two Chiefs of the dwellers of Paradise.

154

وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ أَئِمَّةِ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ

(Please do) send blessings to the leaders of the Muslims;

155

عَلِيِّ بْنِ ٱلْحُسَيْنِ

`Ali bin al-Husayn,

156

وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

Muhammad bin `Ali,

157

وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Ja`far bin Muhammad,

158

وَمُوسَىٰ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ

Musa bin Ja`far,

159

وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَىٰ

`Ali bin Musa,

160

وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

Muhammad bin `Ali,

161

وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ

`Ali bin Muhammad,

162

وَٱلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

al-Hasan bin `Ali,

163

وَٱلْخَلَفِ ٱلْهَادِي ٱلْمَهْدِيِّ

and the successor, the guide, and the rightly guided:

164

حُجَجِكَ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِكَ

(Those Imams are) Your decisive arguments over Your servants

165

وَأُمَنَائِكَ فِي بِلادِكَ

and Your trustworthy confidants in Your lands

166

صَلاةً كَثِيرَةً دَائِمَةً

with blessings that are numerous and non-stop.

167

اَللَّهُمَّ وَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ وَليِّ أَمْرِكَ

O Allah, (please do) send blessings to the custodian of Your commandments,

168

ٱلْقَائِمِ ٱلْمُؤَمَّلِ

the vigilant guardian, the reliable patron,

169

وَٱلْعَدْلِ ٱلْمُنْتَظَرِ

and the awaited establisher of justice.

170

وَحُفَّهُ بِمَلائِكَتِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ

And (please) surround him with Your favorite angels

171

وَأَيِّدْهُ بِرُوحِ ٱلْقُدُسِ

and assist him with the Holy Spirit.

172

يَا رَبَّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ

O Lord of the worlds!

173

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱجْعَلْهُ ٱلدَّاعِيَ إِلَىٰ كِتَابِكَ

O Allah, (please) choose him to be the caller to Your Book

174

وَٱلْقَائِمَ بِدِينِكَ

and the establisher of Your religion;

175

ٱسْتَخْلِفْهُ فِي ٱلأَرْضِ

make him succeed in the earth

176

كَمَا ٱسْتَخْلَفْتَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ

as You caused those who were before him to succeed,

177

مَكِّنْ لَهُ دِينَهُ ٱلَّذِي ٱرْتَضَيْتَهُ لَهُ

establish for him his faith which You have approved for him,

178

أَبْدِلْهُ مِنْ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِ أَمْناً

and give him in exchange safety after the fear.

179

يَعْبُدُكَ لاَ يُشْرِكُ بِكَ شَيْئاً

He serves You. He ascribes nothing as partner to You.

180

اَللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّهُ وَأَعْزِزْ بِهِ

O Allah, (please) grant him power, make him the source of power,

181

وَٱنْصُرْهُ وَٱنْتَصِرْ بِهِ

grant him support, make him the means of Your victory,

182

وَٱنْصُرْهُ نَصْراً عَزِيزاً

help him with a mighty help,

183

وَٱفْتَحْ لَهُ فَتْحاً يَسِيراً

make him prevail over all with easiness,

184

وَٱجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ لَدُنْكَ سُلْطَاناً نَصِيراً

and delegate him Your controlling authority.

185

اَللَّهُمَّ أَظْهِرْ بِهِ دِينَكَ وَسُنَّةَ نَبِيِّكَ

O Allah, (please) make prevalent Your religion and the norms of Your Prophet through him

186

حَتَّىٰ لاَ يَسْتَخْفِيَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ

so that he will not have to hide any item of truth

187

مَخَافَةَ أَحَدٍ مِنَ ٱلْخَلْقِ

for fear of any of the creatures.

188

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَرْغَبُ إِلَيْكَ فِي دَوْلَةٍ كَرِيمَةٍ

O Allah, we ardently desire that You confer upon us a respectful government

189

تُعِزُّ بِهَا ٱلإِسْلاَمَ وَأَهْلَهُ

through which You may give might to Islam and its followers,

190

وَتُذِلُّ بِهَا ٱلنِّفَاقَ وَأَهْلَهُ

humiliate hypocrisy and its people,

191

وَتَجْعَلُنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلدُّعَاةِ إِلَىٰ طَاعَتِكَ

and include us among those who invite people to the obedience to You and

192

وَٱلْقَادَةِ إِلَىٰ سَبِيلِكَ

and lead them to Your approved path.

193

وَتَرْزُقُنَا بِهَا كَرَامَةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلآخِرَةِ

Give us the good of this world and the world to come.

194

اَللَّهُمَّ مَا عَرَّفْتَنَا مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ فَحَمِّلْنَاهُ

O Allah, let us bear out that which You make known to us as the truth

195

وَمَا قَصُرْنَا عَنْهُ فَبَلِّغْنَاهُ

and let us attain that which we fall short to do.

196

اَللَّهُمَّ ٱلْمُمْ بِه شَعَثَنَا

O Allah, through him, set in order our disorder,

197

وَٱشْعَبْ بِهِ صَدْعَنَا

gather and unite our flock,

198

وَٱرْتُقْ بِهِ فَتْقَنَا

stitch together our ripped open separation,

199

وَكَثِّرْ بِهِ قِلَّتَنَا

increase our few numbers,

200

وَأَعْزِزْ بِهِ ذِلَّتَنَا

lift us up from our degradation,

201

وَأَغْنِ بِهِ عَائِلَنَا

grant wealth to the needy among us,

202

وَٱقْضِ بِهِ عَنْ مُغْرَمِنَا

pull us out from our debts,

203

وَٱجْبُرْ بِهِ فَقْرَنَا

set up our poverty,

204

وَسُدَّ بِهِ خَلَّتَنَا

fill the gap of confusion among us,

205

وَيَسِّرْ بِهِ عُسْرَنَا

make easy all difficulties we may face,

206

وَبَيِّضْ بِهِ وُجُوهَنَا

refine our substance and style,

207

وَفُكَّ بِهِ أَسْرَنَا

release us from captivity,

208

وَأَنْجِحْ بِهِ طَلِبَتَنَا

make successful our applications,

209

وَأَنْجِزْ بِهِ مَوَاعِيدَنَا

fulfill Your promises to us,

210

وَٱسْتَجِبْ بِهِ دَعْوَتَنَا

give answer to our prayers,

211

وَأَعْطِنَا بِهِ سُؤْلَنَا

respond to our requests,

212

وَبَلِّغْنَا بِهِ مِنَ ٱلدُّنْيَا وَٱلآخِرَةِ آمَالَنَا

make us attain our hopes in this world as well as the world to come,

213

وَأَعْطِنَا بِهِ فَوْقَ رَغْبَتِنَا

and grant us beyond our wishes.

214

يَا خَيْرَ ٱلْمَسْؤُولِينَ

O Most Favorable of all those whom may be besought

215

وَأَوْسَعَ ٱلْمُعْطِينَ

and Most magnanimous of all those who may grant requests!

216

ٱشْفِ بِهِ صُدُورَنَا

Through him, heal our breasts,

217

وَأَذْهِبْ بِهِ غَيْظَ قُلُوبِنَا

remove the rage of our hearts,

218

وَٱهْدِنَا بِهِ لِمَا ٱخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِكَ

and in the event of dispute in the matter of truth, show us the right path.

219

إِنَّكَ تَهْدِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ

Verily, You guide whosoever You will to the Right Path.

220

وَٱنْصُرْنَا بِهِ عَلَىٰ عَدُوِّكَ وَعَدُوِّنَا

Grant us victory over Your and our enemy.

221

إِلٰهَ ٱلْحَقِّ آمِينَ

O God of Truth, respond to us!

222

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَشْكُو إِلَيْكَ

O Allah, we complain to You

223

فَقْدَ نَبِيِّنَا صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

about the departure of our Prophet, Your blessings be on him and on his Household,

224

وَغَيْبَةَ وَلِيِّنَا

the absence of our leader,

225

وَكَثْرَةَ عَدُوِّنَا

the big numbers of our enemies,

226

وَقِلَّةَ عَدَدِنَا

the few number of us,

227

وَشِدَّةَ ٱلْفِتَنِ بِنَا

widespread disorder,

228

وَتَظَاهُرَ ٱلزَّمَانِ عَلَيْنَا

and vicissitudes of time against us.

229

فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ

So, (please do) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household

230

وَأَعِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذٰلِكَ بِفَتْحٍ مِنْكَ تُعَجِّلُهُ

and help us overcome all that through victory from You that You expedite,

231

وَبِضُرٍّ تَكْشِفُهُ

through relieving us from our injuries,

232

وَنَصْرٍ تُعِزُّهُ

through Your help that You confirm,

233

وَسُلْطَانِ حَقٍّ تُظْهِرُهُ

through bringing in the rule of justice and fair-play,

234

وَرَحْمَةٍ مِنْكَ تُجَلِّلُنَاهَا

through mercy that You expand over us,

235

وَعَافِيَةٍ مِنْكَ تُلْبِسُنَاهَا

and through good health that You cover us with,

236

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ ٱلرَّاحِمِينَ

in the name of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
